PHILOSOPHY
Bomber's philosophy is that pressure leads to resistance, and resistance leads to lack of control. Therefore, to get control, one must remove the resistance and the only way to remove the resistance is to remove the pressure. If one cannot remove the pressure, one needs to distribute the pressure over a bigger surface area.
So, to get back to the principle that the horse's balance is in the head, there are very specific tell-tale signs to use in diagnosing the specific problem a horse may have with his bit.
These are the signs that give a clue as to why exactly the horse is resisting and provide the information needed to select the right bit.
Firstly, measuring of the horse's mouth, says Bomber, is a crucial aspect to fitting the correct bit. It is important to look inside the horse's mouth to identify any abnormalities, injuries and to assess any specific requirements. A custom bit may be required in extreme cases.
The second prerequisite is that the horse's back and neck should have been checked by a qualified person. Remember, the only reason why a horse will resist, is due to pain or discomfort, and no amount of bit fitting will help if the pain or discomfort lies in the neck and back. Only when these points have been eliminated, can I possibly help.
The Marsh Carney Saddlery stores have over 35years experience in the Industry with a qualified saddle fitter also available to assist with the total comfort of the horse. Marsh Carney Staff have all attended the training workshops provided by Bomber bits. These workshops explained the different mouth pieces, cheek pieces and pressure points available in the Bomber Bit range to best find a bit suitable for our customers.
